Martyrs Mirwaiz Muhammad Farooq & Abdul Ghani Lone were assets of freedom movement: Syed Salahuddin

MUZAFFARABAD, May 21 (SABAH): Chairman United Jihad Council (UJC) and Hizbul Mujahideen Chief Syed Salahuddin Ahmed has said that martyrs Mirwaiz Maulana Muhammad Farooq and Abdul Ghani Lone were assets of freedom movement.

Syed Salahuddin Ahmed expressed these views during a special meeting of United Jihad Council held under his chairmanship here on Sunday. During the meeting, it was briefed that Indian agencies along with their agents tried to create differences among the masses fighting for the freedom but they remained unsuccessful.

Mirwaiz Maulana Muhammad Farooq was martyred on May 21, 1990 at his residence at Nageen, Srinagar by Indian oppressive forces while 12 year later, Abdul Ghani Lone was martyred on May 21, 2002. Mirwaiz Maulana Muhammad Farooq always remained active regarding freedom movement as well as for the sake of Islam.

Likewise, Mirwaiz Maulana Muhammad Farooq also played a vital role in the freedom movement till the last breath of his life. The meeting paid a rich tribute to the both martyred leaders.

The meeting condemned an attack on Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq in strongest possible terms and termed it an act of anti-Pakistan forces. The meeting urges this attack is not against a single person but against the ideological foundation of the country, perpetrated by anti-Islam and anti-Pakistan forces.

It is worth mentioning here that a number of religious, political and social personalities were martyred in terror activities. Motif of such actions was to create instability in the country which must be given a befitting answer through national harmony. Participants of the meeting thanked Allah Almighty who saved life of emir Jamaat-e-Islami miraculously. They also prayed for those who injured in the attack.
