Man kills seven family members including mother, brothers & sister-in-law over property dispute in Pakpattan


PAKPATTAN/LAHORE,  Mar 25 (SABAH): A man in Punjab’s Pakpattan district killed seven family members, including two children and three women, over a property dispute, it was reported on Saturday. Meanwhile Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi while taking notice of the heinous incident has summoned report from Inspector General of Punjab Police Dr. Muhammad Usman Anwar. Mohsin Naqvi has also issued directions for immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the incident. The caretaker CM Punjab has directed IGP Punjab to investigate the incident from all aspects and justice should be ensured to the grieved family.

According to the initial reports, the accused Sarwar along with his aides killed mother Bashiran Bibi, two of his brothers Sherbar and Iftikhar, sister-in-law Asia and children 11-years old Ahmed and 9-years old Ahad and 22 years old niece Pakka Bibi in Bari Rakh village of Pakpattan. Seven years old minor girl was critically injured, who has been shifted the hospital for treatment. The condition of the injured girl also stated to be critical. Police have started raids for the arrest of the accused.  

As soon as the information was received, Pakpattan DPO Hasan Iqbal reached the spot and formed a team to arrest the accused. Forensic teams were also summoned on the crime scene. The bodies were transferred to a nearby hospital by Rescue 1122 officials.

Taking notice of the murders, IGP Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has directed RPO Sahiwal to submit a report on the incident and ordered DPO Pakpattan to form a special team to arrest the accused as soon as possible.

He stated that the accused and his accomplices should be immediately arrested and brought to justice, adding that the accused will be punished and justice will be ensured for the families of the victims.
