Hafiz Naeemur Rehman strongly condemns load-shedding of gas during the first fasting of Ramadan

KARACHI, March 13 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has strongly condemned load-shedding of gas during the first fasting of Ramadan.

In a statement, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that Sui Southern Gas Company has badly failed in providing gas despite the fact it had announced a particular schedule during Sehr and Aftaar. Resultantly, the people are very worried over the situation, he added.

People are forced to visit hotels, he said, and added in increasing inflation, the people are not even meeting expenditures of Sehr and Aftaar. He stressed upon the government and Sui Sothern Gas Company to take the situation serious and sort out the issue forthwith.

He said during the month of Ramadan, load shedding of gas should be stopped, particularly during sehr and aftaar. He said that gas is basic need and it is responsibility of the government to ensure basic needs of the people but due to incompetency of the government, crisis of the gas is increasing day by day.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said ahead of Ramazan, a number of announcements were made that the citizens would be provided gas during sehr and aftaar but Sui Sothern Gas Company could not implement its own announcements. He said during the first fasting, a number of areas of the city including North Karachi, Sarjani Town, North Nazimabad, Model Colony, Gulshan Iqbal and other areas observed gas load shedding.

At homes, the women were not able to cook food, he said and added the citizens filed complaints but no relief was provided to them. He said the citizens strongly protested against gas load shedding and said that gas prices are going up but it is not being provided to them which is a clear cruelty.
