Attaullah Tarar says economy is showing positive indicators as a result of the prudent policies introduced by the govt

ISLAMABAD, April 04 (SABAH): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar Advocate has said the economy is showing positive indicators as a result of the prudent policies introduced by the government. He said that no politics should be done on the economy, adding that all should have to play role for the strengthening of the economy.

Talking to media, along with Prime Minister’s Coordinator Romina Khurshid Alam, in Islamabad on Thursday, Attaullah  Tarar said rupee’s is gaining strength and exchange rate is now more stable. He said the nation today witnessed an upward trajectory in the stock exchange with an increase of record points.

The Information Minister said Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is being digitalized as per vision of the Prime Minister to improve revenue collection.

He said the government is also committed to youth empowerment and it will soon launch a comprehensive programme in this regard.

Attaullah Tarar said international leading financial rating agency Bloomberg has predicted 15 percent reduction in inflation rate next year.

He commended the role of media for positively reporting the privatization of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) as there is no other option to avoid the loss of Rs 80 billion being incurred by the PIA on national exchequer. He said that the process of privatization of PIA is moving forward.
