Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan completed 1,975 clean drinking water projects last year in whole country: Syed Ahsan Ullah Waqas


LAHORE, Nov 16 (SABAH): Senior Vice President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Syed Ahsan Ullah Waqas has said that Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan has completed 1,975 clean drinking water projects last year in whole country.

The annual board meeting of Alkhidmat Foundation’s Clean Drinking Water Program was held at Alkhimdat Complex Lahore under the chairmanship of Senior Vice President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Syed Ahsan Ullah Waqas.

During the meeting the performance of 2020 was reviewed and planning was done for the next year. National Director Alkhimdat Foundation Clean Drinking Water Program Syed Rashid Dawood while presenting the report said that overall 1,975 clean drinking water projects were completed during the last year, which include 261 water well, 162 submersible water pump, 19 solar submersible water pump, 19 filtration plants, 1512 hand pumps and five gravity flow water schemes. Nearly 0.6 million people are benefiting from these projects daily.

He said that during this period later water quality testing lap was also established in Lahore, adding that 16 submersible solar pumps were installed in Tharparkar for the promotion of the agriculture and provision of food and employment to the local population.

While presenting the planning about 2022, Syed Rashid Dawood said that target of completing 2,000 water projects have been fixed for the next year.

While addressing the meeting Syed Ahsan Ullah Waqas said that Alkhidmat Foundation under the clean drinking water program is working on water projects according to the needs of the local people, adding that clean drinking water is being provided to the residents of far flung areas.

The meeting was also attended by Executive Director Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Khubaib Bilal, General Manager Programs Hammad Akhtar, Program Manager Zeeshan Saeed and regional responsible from whole country.
