Zimbabwe attaches great importance to relations with Pakistan: Martin Chedondo


RAWALPINDI, Oct 05 (SABAH): Zimbabwean High Commissioner Martin Chedondo visited the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) and called on President Saqib Rafiq.

Senior Vice President Muhammad Hamza Sarosh, Vice President Faisal Shahzad and Secretary General Irfan Manan Khan were also present on the occasion.

President Saqib Rafiq briefed the High Commissioner on the ongoing activities of the Chamber. He said that the Rawalpindi Chamber is engaged with all stakeholders to promote mutual trade with African countries especially Zimbabwe. The volume of bilateral trade is very low which needs to be increased. The investment opportunities can be increased through exchange of trade delegations, he added.

High Commissioner Martin Chedondo said that Zimbabwe attaches great importance to relations with Pakistan, diplomatic relations were established in 1980. This is his first visit to any chamber.

Textiles, cotton, defense equipment, sports goods, minerals, tourism, precious stones, gold, agriculture and food processing are important sectors in which mutual trade can be promoted.

The High Commissioner said that information related to investment opportunities will be shared with the Rawalpindi Chamber.
