Yousaf Raza Gilani urges all stakeholders to play a proactive role in maximising the potential of the population

ISLAMABAD, July 11 (SABAH): Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani in his message marking the World Population Day, has said that the day reminds us of great responsibility the nation has entrusted us with vis-a-vis welfare of masses and we must work collectively for their betterment and uplift.

He said that a large population can indeed be a blessing in disguise. Through training and skills development, the population bulge, the 60% of which is youth, can be transformed into a valuable asset for the nation.

The Chairman Senate said that population dividend and valuable human resource to support and fuel national development and progress. He pointed out that, to provide necessary facilities and services to the masses, the population should be managed in proportion to available resources.

He urged all stakeholders to play a proactive role in maximising the potential of the population, ensuring that it becomes an invaluable asset to the nation.
