Yousaf Raza Gilani, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq condole passing of U.S. Congress Representative Sheila Jackson Lee
ISLAMABAD, July 20 (SABAH): Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has expressed deep sense of grief and sorrow over the demise of member US House of Representative Sheila Jackson Lee.
“She was a great friend and supporter of Pakistan”, the Chairman Senate said while eulogizing her services. He expressed solidarity with family of Sheila Jackson and said that Pakistan has lost a true friend. Her services for oppressed, the Chairman Senate said, would long be remembered.
Meanwhile the Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, has expressed his profound sadness at the news of the passing of Ms. Sheila Jackson Lee, U.S. Congress Representative and Chairperson of the Pakistan Caucus in Congress.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in his message said, “I am deeply saddened to learn about the passing of Ms. Sheila Jackson Lee. She was a great friend of Pakistan and played a significant role in expanding bilateral ties between the two countries. Her support in addressing critical issues, particularly her efforts during the recent devastation caused by floods in Pakistan, were extremely commendable. My deepest condolences go to her family, friends, Congress, and the people of the U.S. in this hour of grief”.
The Speaker added that the National Assembly of Pakistan stands with the people of the United States in mourning the loss of a remarkable leader and a true friend of Pakistan. She would always be remembered for her public service and efforts to uplift the marginalized segments of the society.
