ATTOCK, May 28 (SABAH) Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Member National Assembly and Senior Vice President Punjab Sheikh Aftab Ahmed has said that Youm-e-Takbeer serves as a testament to our nation’s resilience, unwavering determination, and commitment to maintaining regional peace and stability. He congratulated the nation on the 26th anniversary of Yaum-e-Takbeer.
Sheikh Aftab Ahmed paid tribute to the senior leadership of Pakistan Muslim League, especially former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, senior military leadership and scientists of Pakistan.
Sheikh Aftab Ahmed said that on this historic day in 1998, former PM Nawaz Sharif demonstrated bold leadership by rejecting nerve wracking pressures and inducements to make Pakistan a nuclear armed nation. He said 26 years ago, Pakistan got the honor of becoming the first nuclear power in the Muslim world and the 7th nuclear power in the world. He said that Pakistan’s political, military, and scientific leadership came together to achieve this milestone, making May 28 a proud day for the nation. Yaum-e-Takbeer was a golden and memorable day in history, on this day Pakistan announced that no one can enslave it. There are certain moments in the life of nations when a decision changes their destiny and May 28 was the day for Pakistan, he added.
Sheikh Aftab Ahmed emphasized that Youm-e-Takbeer symbolizes the power of unity and strong will, enabling the nation to overcome external and internal challenges. He urged the nation to come together under the green crescent flag to defend the country and stabilize Pakistan’s economy.
