Woes & worries of victims of October 8, 2005 earthquake still palpable: Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman
MUZAFFARABAD, Oct 8 (SABAH): President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman has said that woes and worries of victims of October 8, 2005 earthquake are still palpable.
He said that Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan has set up state-of-the-art Alkhidmat Diagnostic Center in Muzaffarabad for providing cheap and modern medical tests to the patients where the poor people would be provided services free of cost with the zakat fund while for other citizens cheap medical tests would be conducted besides providing cheap medicines that is with discount of 10 %.
Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman expressed these views while addressing a press conference at press house along with Vice President Azizullah Khan President Alkhidmat Foundation Azad Kashmir and Chaudhary Abdul Hameed District President, Tahir Islam, Raja Aftab Ahmed and others.
Ahead of Oct 8, 2005 earthquake, Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman said that Alkhidmat Foundation was not working in the area with respect to sponsorship of the orphans but afterwards with they established an Aghosh Center at Attock.
He noted at present, almost 27000 orphans are being sponsored across the length and breadth of the country where 2.5 billion are consumed whereas sponsorship of 2500 orphans is being done in two Aghosh Centres which have been setup in Azad Kashmir where 170 millions rupees are being used. He noted that billions of handicapped persons have also been provided with the wheelchairs.
He said that Alkhidmat Foundation was working for the depressed humanity across the world and added in US, UK, Norway, Japan including six other countries it has been registered. He said in Gaza, Palestine, it is working for services of martyrs and the injured individuals.
He added that a hospital is being set up there with the price of Rs 150 million. He further said that they pray for the higher status of those who passed away in Jannah. Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman said that they assure the masses that they will not leave them helpless and stranded. He further shed light on the earthquake that hit parts of country especially Ajad Jammu and Kashmir, saying it was not a less than the Day of Judgment on some extent as those who used to give alms were standing in queues of receiving the alms money.
