Will not let anybody rest until rehabilitation of last flood affected person: Sirajul Haq
GHIZER, GILGIT, Sep 19 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Sirajul Haq has stressed upon the governments of Islamabad and Gilgit-Baltistan to take practical measures for rehabilitation of people affected by recent disastrous floods.
Sirajul Haq expressed these views while talking to flood victims and media persons during his visit of Ghizer and Gilgit on Monday. During the address, he said, “I will not let anybody rest until rehabilitation of last person.”
Selfish political parties and attitude of their leadership proved that they prefer their own interests to the country and the nation, he said, adding despite the fact “I multiple times, requested them that this was not time to do politics but to protect the country and victims.” He asked the nation to do their future decisions in the light of their [politicians’] bad deeds.
Millions of workers of Jamaat-e-Islami and its institutions are actively participating in providing assistance to the flood victims, the emir Jamaat-e-Islami said and added they will not leave affected people stranded. He asked [the authorities concerned] to increase budget of Gilgit-Baltistan and setup a base camp for Kashmir’s freedom movement while being integrating Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan as 12.5 million hostage Kashmiri people were eying towards Pakistan [for help].
Sirajul Haq was also accompanied by emir Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir Dr. Khalid Mahmood Khan, Secretary General Muhammad Tanvir Anwer, Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir Gilgit-Baltistan Mushtaq Ahmed Advocate, Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Gilgit-Baltistan Maulana Abdul Sami, Secretary Jamaat-e-Islami Gilgit-Baltistan Nizam Uddin, President Alkhidmat Foundation Gilgit-Baltistan Zakria Advocate and other leaders, who addressed on the occasion.
Meanwhile, Sirajul Haq and Dr. Khalid Mahmood Khan visited the central office of Alkhidmat Foundation Gilgit-Baltistan where they were briefed about the relief activities for restoration of flood victims.
