When the economy will be strengthened then there will be no need of securing loans: PM Shehbaz


SIALKOT, July 16 (SABAH): Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that petrol and diesel prices have been decreased due to the strengthening of the rupee against dollar after signing of the IMF program. He said that the relief given to the common man in form of decreasing the prices of the petrol and diesel is due to strengthening of the rupee against dollar. He said that when the economy will be strengthened then there will be no need of securing loans.

PM Shehbaz Sharif distributed laptops among eligible students under the Prime Minister Laptop Scheme in Sialkot on Sunday. Addressing the ceremony at Sialkot Women University, PM Shehbaz Sharif said laptops have been distributed among students on merit.

The Prime Minister said one hundred thousand laptops will be distributed among students.

Shehbaz Sharif said providing relief to people is the first priority of government. He said all efforts are being made to provide maximum facilities to business community.

He said that the laptops have been handed over to the girl students in recognition of their capability, adding that the laptops have been given on merit. He said that this policy will bring out Pakistan from difficulties and challenges and will make it a great nation. He said that laptop distribution program was started in 2011 in Punjab under the leadership of Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and hundreds and thousands of laptops were distributed among the students in whole Punjab on merit. He said that students of other provinces were also included in this program.

PM Shehbaz Sharif said that currently one hundred thousand laptops allocated during the financial year 2022-23 are being distributed and for 2023-24 one hundred thousand more laptops have been allocated for distribution among the students. He said that $45 million have been spent on import of laptops from abroad. He said that the government has allocated Rs 5 billion for women in 2023-24 budget.

PM Shehbaz Sharif said that next month our government’s tenure will be completed and then the interim government will come, adding that whosoever is given chance by Almighty Allah in next election it will be the duty of new government to provide all required resources for the education sector. PM Shehbaz Sharif said that if the nation will give chance to PML-N under the leadership of Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in next election then we will complete the revolution in the education sector, which was started in 2011 and laptop will be provided to every male and female student, adding that without this the nations could not make progress. PM Shehbaz Sharif said that we can only make progress through education.

Earlier, addressing a laptop distribution ceremony at the same venue, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said the Prime Minister played a vital role in taking out the country from crises. He said Shehbaz Sharif has taken several significant steps for provision of higher education to the students.

Ameer Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadith Professor Senator Sajid Mir, Members of the National Assembly Rana Shamim Ahmed Khan, Chaudhry Armughan Subhani, Ali Zahid, Syeda Nowsheen Iftikhar, Advisor to PM on Establishment Ahad Khan Cheema, Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed and other PML-N leaders were also present on the occasion.
