LAHORE, August 31 (SABAH): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and former prime minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has vowed to steer the country out of inflation. Mawaz Sharif hinted at giving relief to commercial consumers of electricity like the one given to domestic consumers for the months of August and September by reducing Rs14 per unit in power bills.

A consultative meeting of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was held in Lahore on Saturday to review relief measures being taken by the federal and Punjab governments. The meeting presided over by party president Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was also attended by the Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif. During the meeting, political and economic situation of the country and development projects came under discussion.

“We won’t let anyone derail the progress the country is making under the PML-N government. We will not allow anyone to make bad decisions anymore,” Nawaz Sharif added. He blamed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan for throwing the country in inflationary quagmire.

Meanwhile, talking to media in Lahore, Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives and PML-N Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal Chauhdry said party meeting reviewed relief given in electricity bills by federal and Punjab governments.

He said party president Nawaz Sharif directed to reduce expenses of government to provide more relief to the people.

Ahsan Iqbal said Nawaz Sharif also directed to complete reforms in local bodies law as it was part of party’s manifesto.
