We must persevere in our efforts to strengthen Pakistan-United States relations, despite periodic ups & downs: Sardar Masood Khan

WASHINGTON, July 02 (SABAH): Pakistan’s outgoing Ambassador to the United States of America Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan has said that he has completed his assignment as Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States.

In his message Sardar Masood Khan said that since March 2022, together we have tried to build strong Pak-US relations. “In this endeavor, I am grateful for the immense support given to us by our American friends from the Administration, Congress, State Governments and Assemblies, International Financial Institutions (IFIs), think-tanks, media, civil society and the private sector, as well as the diaspora community” Sardar Masood Khan said.

“We must persevere in our efforts to strengthen Pakistan-United States relations, despite periodic ups and downs. A robust relationship between our two nations is work in progress, backed by a history of nearly 77 years” Sardar Masood Khan said.

“I am also grateful to the support and understanding of Pakistani-American community. They have become a pillar of strength and a connective tissue for resilient Pak-US partnerships. I am indebted to the influential Pakistani-American professional organizations that have helped me, our missions, and our two nations to navigate through challenging but promising landscapes. I am confident that you would extend full support to my successor. As I leave, I wish you all success and prosperity. Have faith in Pakistan and keep nurturing Pakistan-United States ties” Sardar Masood Khan said.

Meanwhile Sardar Masood Khan in his message for Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee has said that Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, over the decades, has been a great Congressional leader. Her voice is heard with respect and attention in the House of Representatives, by the United States government and by diverse constituencies.

Sardar Masood Khan said that it is a matter of pride and honor for us that she has been the Chairperson of the House Congressional Pakistan Caucus. In this role she is a bridge between Pakistan and the United States. She has played a pivotal role in strengthening ties between our two nations. Sheila Jackson Lee is a popular figure in Pakistan. She has worked with successive governments and prominent Pakistani leaders. Whenever there was a catastrophe in Pakistan — the 2005 earthquake or the 2022 devastating floods — Sheila Jackson Lee travelled all the way to Pakistan to be with our people, in person, to express her empathy, solidarity and support. She is also very popular with Pakistani American Community. The community of Houston, Texas, particularly, adores her. In the past two years, I have been in touch with her and she has extended immense help to me. I am so grateful for her consistent support.
