We could deliver verdicts of cases while sitting at homes, basic purpose of lawyers is to explain cases in front of courts: CJP Qazi Faez Isa

ISLAMABAD, Oct 30 (SABAH): Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Qazi Faez Isa has said that they could deliver verdicts of the cases while sitting at home but the purpose of lawyers is to explain the cases in front of the courts. It is amazing that the lawyers would tell us as to how to run the cases.

A three-member bench headed by CJP Qazi Faez Isa and comprising Justice Aminuddin Khan and Justice Athar Minallah conducted hearing of 10 different cases on Monday.

Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa said that the lawyers are not ready to run the cases and criticized that do not make gossip but tell us the name the law is. It is the level of preparedness of the lawyers they don’t even open the files and do not even study the law.

He further said why they used to do this job, we were not used to sleep at nights when being lawyer our cased had been fixed in court but over here the lawyers request for taking a minute. CJP said that the lawyer does not asking for alms but they come here for demanding their rights.

It is the institution of the government and how the private lawyers are appearing before the court, he said and questioned where is the office of the Advocate General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa? He said, “you did not bring the book of law while you know each and everything and it should never happen again. Lawyers’ job should be done by them as we are not supposed to do so but to deliver verdicts. We don’t want to indulge in financial matters.”

Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Qazi Faez Isa further asked who in this land of ours get registered his land on the price he indeed purchased the land. He said the courts don’t interfere selection process until and unless a big illegality is committed. He said the lawyers think that the judges don’t know about the laws. “The lawyer has repeated a single thing for five times and if he would repeat against, he would have to pay fine for it,” he added.

While Justice Athar Minallah asked whether the court could make possible the joining through an interim order without appointment order and further said if the woman teacher did not appear for the interview then how her joining could be made possible and justified. He said is it not a fact that the high court in intra court appeal had not ordered that the woman teacher should pay back the salaries which were drew her from 2013 to 2021.
