Video of Jamaat-e-Islami’s 10 demands related to public relief went viral on social media

ISLAMABAD, July 30 (SABAH): The video of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan’s ten demands related to public relief has gone viral on social media. Video is being shared by users rapidly. According to the details, Jamaat-e-Islami put ten demands before the government. In this regard, a video was specially made, and the first demand is to give 50% discount to those who consume 500 units of electricity. The government should end the petrol levy and roll back the recent hike in prices. The prices of essential commodities should be reduced by 20%.

Taxes on stationary items should be abolished immediately. The tax on the salaried class should be abolished and the privileged class should be brought into the tax net. A 50% cut should be imposed on non-developmental expenses. The agreement to pay capacity charges and IPPs in dollars should be terminated. All contracts with IPPs should be reviewed. Unlawful taxes on agriculture and industry should be abolished and fifty percent burden should be abolished.

Industry, trade and investment should be ensured so that the youth get employment.
