US meddling in making & dissolving govts all over the world was an open secret: Sirajul Haq
LAHORE, April 01 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Sirajul Haq has said the prime minister should have taken the parliament into confidence on the issue of foreign interference for regime change on the day he (the PM) received the letter.
Even now, Sirajul Haq said in a statement issued from Mansoorah on Friday, the prime minister was reluctant to clearly mention the name of foreign country wanted to oust him from power. The PM, he added, must take clear stance on the issue, bringing forward the name of the country involved in Pakistan’s internal issues.
Sirajul Haq said the US meddling in making and dissolving governments all over the world was an open secret. Washington, he said, role in Pakistan internal matters was also known to everyone.
The way forward to bring the country out of political crisis, he said, was the resignation of prime minister and fresh elections. The PTI and the opposition side, he added, should agree on the polls, providing the opportunity to the people to elect their representatives through free and transparent manner.
Sirajul Haq made it clear that proposed government by the opposition side was not a solution to the problems. Sirajul Haq said he conveyed the same to the opposition leader in National Assembly. He said the JI had decided to stay away from the present game in Islamabad. The JI, he added, would never be the part of interest-based politics and instead it would continue struggle to bring real change.
The JI chief said the government made open interference in local government elections in KP in violation to the election rules. Despite the warning of the Election Commission, he said, the prime minister, the chief minister of KP and other ministers used state resources to win the polls. The JI, he said, showed good results in four tehsils of the KP in the polls despite government intrusion. He congratulated the JI workers for running successful campaign, hoping the party would ultimately succeed in winning the confidence of the masses all over the country as the other parties which ruled for years failed to bring any change.
