University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir set to host 42nd Int’l Pakistan Congress of Zoology

MUZAFFARABAD, Feb 19 (SABAH): The University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK) is gearing up to host the three-day 42nd International Pakistan Congress of Zoology at the King Abdullah Campus in April 2024, marking a significant milestone for the academic community.

According to the Public Relations Department of UAJK, the international conference is scheduled to commence on April 23, drawing the attention of scientists and researchers globally, including delegates from the USA, Australia, Switzerland, Greece, and various countries.

A comprehensive review meeting, held at the committee room of King Abdullah Campus Chatter Kallas, assessed the preparations for the congress. Chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kaleem Abbasi, the meeting included figures such as Meritorious Prof. Dr. Ghulam Murtaza, Deans from all four faculties, Controller Examinations, Director Finance, Director Planning, Director Works, Provost Hostels, Head of the Department of Zoology, and other Administrative Officers and Heads of Arrangement Committees.

 

Dr. Nuzhat Shafi, Chairperson of the Department of Zoology, highlighted the significance of hosting the 42nd International Pakistan Congress of Zoology under the auspices of the Zoological Society of Pakistan. She emphasized that it is a distinct honor for the UAJK and the Department of Zoology in particular.

The conference is anticipated to attract a substantial number of distinguished scientists, researchers, intellectuals, faculty members, and students specializing in zoology from around the world. The three-day event will encompass various sessions featuring research papers, panel discussions, and lectures covering the latest developments, current issues, and opportunities within the field of Zoology.

Sessions will cover a wide range of topics, including entomology and pest management, cell biology, molecular biology, bioinformatics, environmental biotechnology, genetics, wildlife conservation, and several others. Delegates will have the opportunity to engage in discussions and share insights on cutting-edge research.

Addressing the meeting, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kaleem Abbasi expressed the university’s pride in hosting the World Pakistan Congress of Zoology. He emphasized the significance of the event for the UAJK and underscored the commitment to ensuring the conference’s success. Prof. Dr. Abbasi issued directives to relevant departments, urging them to organize conferences not only in zoology but also across other sciences and social sciences to promote quality education and research.

As preparations intensified, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kaleem Abbasi directed the heads of the committees to complete all arrangements promptly and ensure that delegates from around the world received the necessary facilities for their participation in the three-day 42nd World Pakistan Congress of Zoology.
