United States is the biggest global oppressor & aligning with it is tantamount to opposing Islam & Pakistan: Hafiz Naeemur Rehman
LAHORE, Jan 07 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has declared the United States the biggest global oppressor and emphasized that aligning with it is tantamount to opposing Islam and Pakistan.
Speaking at the central training session in Mansoorah, attended by a large number of men and women from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Rehman criticized both the government and opposition for looking to Washington for guidance. He stated that resisting the influence of the U.S. and its allies is a religious obligation.
The JI Emir said the government allocated over PKR 2 trillion to a handful of cronies in despite the fact their power plants did not generate electricity, while it was not ready to provide subsidies for basic necessities to the public. He questioned why the financial benefits derived from renegotiating Independent Power Producer (IPP) agreements were not passed on to consumers through lower electricity bills. Announcing a call to action by the end of February, he urged the nation to prepare for a nationwide struggle against injustices.
Rehman said the U.S. is enemy of humanity and democracy and backing Israel’s genocide against Palestinians. He noted that the U.S., along with the West, supports dictatorships and monarchies globally while rejecting democratic movements such as Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood and Algeria’s Islamic Salvation Front. He highlighted the sacrifices Pakistan has made in the so-called War on Terror, including thousands of lives lost and billions in economic damage, only to face continued do more demands from the U.S.
Rehman criticized Pakistan’s rulers for conducting operations against their own citizens at Washington’s behest, turning tribal regions into safe havens for foreign intelligence agencies like Blackwater, CIA, and RAW. He underscored the need to liberate Pakistan from such external pressures and restore justice and sovereignty.
He also addressed Jamaat-e-Islami’s political ethos, stressing that its workers adhere to high moral standards. He instructed members to refrain from unnecessary debate with other political parties and instead focus on the movement to establish Allah Almighty system on Earth. “Unlike other political parties or sectarian groups, our goals are lofty and rooted in the mission of Islamic revival,” he said.
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman emphasized the importance of justice, equality, and unity, calling for an end to a system controlled by a few powerful individuals. He urged the establishment of governance based on the supremacy of the people and the principles of justice. He also stated that while language, ethnicity, and community have their significance, the principles of faith supersede all.
