Unidentified armed men attacked a convoy of relief goods in Kurram & robbed trucks after resorting to firing
PESHAWAR, Feb 17 (SABAH): Unidentified armed men on Monday attacked a convoy of relief goods in Kurram district and robbed trucks after resorting to firing.
According to media reports, the convoy of 100 trucks came under attack in the Uchet area of the district.
Police quoted eyewitnesses as saying that the attackers opened fire on the convoy from a number of places and started robing the vehicles. However, the security forces responded immediately and fired on the robbers through a gunship helicopter.
As per media reports, due to the tense situation in Lower Kurram, the convoy has been stopped at Tal. The armed men have been continuing firing on the convoy.
Meanwhile, dismantling of bunkers set up by warring tribes continued under the Kohat Peace Agreement in Kurram district on Monday.
