Under the direction of PM Shehbaz, the Govt is dispatching relief goods for the earthquake victims in Myanmar

ISLAMABAD, April 2 (SABAH): Under the direction of Prime Minister Muhamamd Shehbaz Sharif, the Government of Pakistan is dispatching relief goods for the earthquake victims in Myanmar.

According to FO, first flight will depart from Islamabad International Airport, carrying 35 tons of essential supplies. Its cargo includes 565 Tents, 210 Tarpaulins, 2000 Blankets, 1 Ton of Readymade Food, 0.5 Tons of Medicines, and 10 Water Modules. Another flight of 35 tons relief supplies will be sent soon.

A formal “See-off” ceremony for the flight was held at Islamabad International Airport at 1300 hours, with Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhary, serving as the chief guest. Representatives from NDMA, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ambassador of Myanmar in Pakistan were also present at the event.

Upon arrival in Yangon, the cargo will be received by Pakistan Ambassador and Defense Attaché, who will hand over the supplies to Myanmar’s Ministry of Social Welfare & Resettlement for distribution to those affected by the disaster.

Pakistan is committed to providing support to Myanmar in the wake of 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck on March 28, 2025.

Yesterday, the Prime Minister spoke with Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of Myanmar’s State Administration Council and Prime Minister of Myanmar, and conveyed his condolences while reaffirming Pakistan’s solidarity and support in the wake of the devastating earthquake.
