Under Alkhidmat Foundation, food packages distributed among 110 Pakistan Railway employees, minorities
RAWALPINDI, May 2 (SABAH): Under Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, food packages were distributed among the 110 daily-wages employees of Pakistan Railways (PR) as well as individuals belonging to minorities in connection with “Labor Day” in the garrison city of Rawalpindi.
With respect to this, a ceremony was organized at Rawalpindi Railways Station. President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman was the special guest on the occasion whereas President Alkhidmat North Punjab Rizwan Ahmed, local office-bearers and PR employees also participated in the ceremony.
Addressing the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Hafeezur Rehman said that “Labor Day” is a symbol of respect and honour for labour class and added the entire nation pays tributes to the working classes on this day. “The whole nation appreciates the role and assistance of lobourers in the development of nation as well as the country whereas Islam lays emphasis on social justice, equality and principles of respect for human rights. Long before the introduction of international labour laws, Islam set leading principles for the rights of labour classes,” he remarked.
Sky-rocketing inflation has affected all and sundry, particularly the labour classes, he noted and added while keeping in view this aspect, Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan distributed rations among the minorities. Alkhidmat distributed food packages before and during the holy month of Ramadan when trains were not working and that the minorities had no source of income. Divisional Superintendent Railways Inamullah Masood acknowledged the assistance given by Alkhidmat to the employees as well as the minorities.
He further said that Alkhidmat was rendering matchless sacrifices for the upset humanity. On the other side, in connection with “Labor Day”, gifts and food packages were distributed among the labourers in Lahore and other parts of the country.
Addressing on the occasion, Vice President Alkhidmat Foundation Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Mangat presented a reference of a hadith, that the hardworking person is beloved to Allah SWT and added that such worker must be given his/her wages before the sweat is dry on him. “Fulfilling the rights and needs of labourers lies in the responsibilities of institutions and the government,” he concluded.
