Under Alkhidmat Academic Scholarship, more 70 intelligent & deserving students were given scholarships during a ceremony

LAHORE, May 16 (SABAH): Under Alkhidmat Academic Scholarship, more 70 intelligent and deserving students were given scholarship during a ceremony.

In the ceremony, Secretary General Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan and Chairman Alkhidmat Academic Scholarship Syed WaqasJafri, Central Vice President Muhammad Abdul Shakoor, Director Education Dr Ahmed Jibran Baloch, Regional Director Education DrMaharSaeedAkhtar and other guests participated and expressed their views.

On the occasion, Syed WaqasJafri said that Alkhidmat Academic Scholarship has spent Rs 437 million for higher education of 5,269 deserving students. He said that getting education is basic right of every human being. Unluckily in Pakistan, he said 23 million children have been deprived of going to school, especially the students could not complete their higher education due to unavailability of required resources. In this situation, Alkhidmat Academic Scholarship like program is a ray of hope for intelligent students, he added.

Addressing the ceremony, Muhammad Abdul Shakoor said that under Alkhidmat Academic Scholarship, intelligent and deserving students have been assisted in education for previous 26 years. He said that intelligent and deserving students are chosen in the merit and then they are given scholarship for their higher education. At present, under Alkhidmat Academic Scholarship, scholarships to intelligent and deserving students across the country are being given without any discrimination, he added.

DrJibran Baloch said that purpose of convention is to encourage the students as well as attracting attention of philanthropists so that they could sponsor in these programs.
