UAJK to celebrate 20th convocation with over 9,700 graduates

MUZAFFARABAD, July 23 (SABAH): The University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK) will host its 20th convocation on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at King Abdullah Campus, Chatter Kallas. Chancellor, President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhary will preside over the proceedings.

A total of 9,715 students will receive their degrees during the ceremony, with 49 top achievers being awarded gold medals. The recipients include 1,500 on-campus students and 8,220 students from affiliated colleges and private institutions across Kashmir. Additionally, degrees will be awarded to 36 doctoral graduates and 96 MS/MPhil scholars.

In preparation for the convocation, a full dress rehearsal will be held tomorrow at the King Abdullah Campus. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kaleem Abbasi has been closely monitoring the preparations, with various management committees providing daily performance reports.

At a joint meeting held yesterday, committee heads briefed Prof. Dr. Abbasi on the steps taken to ensure a smooth and successful event. Emphasizing the significance of the convocation, Prof. Dr. Abbasi directed officials to ensure that all graduates receive the best possible facilities during the ceremony.

Prof. Dr. Wajid Aziz Lone, Controller of Examinations, detailed the arrangements made for the graduating students. Key participants in the meeting included Registrar Meritorious Prof. Dr. Ghulam Murtaza, Meritorious Prof. Dr. Syed Nadeem Haider Bukhari, Resident Director King Abdullah Campus Prof. Dr. Ayaz Arif, Dean Sciences Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rafiq, Dean Engineering Prof. Dr. Saadat Hanif Dar, Dean Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Abdul Qadir Khan, Director Finance Prof. Dr. Khawaja Basharat, Director Student Affairs Dr. Sharjeel Saeed, Additional Registrar Sardar Zafr Iqbal, Director Neelam Campus Dr. Malik Sajjad, Director Jhelum Valley Campus Dr. Faisal Butt, Chairperson Department of Sociology Dr. Nazanin Habib, Chairperson Department of Art and Design Dr. Rukhsana Syed, Public Relations Officer Mubashar Naqvi, and State Officer Raheel Abbasi, among others.
