Two-day long training workshop under the Orphan Care Program of Alkhidmat Foundation held at Rawalpindi
RAWALPINDI, April 27 (SABAH): Two-day long training workshop under the Orphan Care Program of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan was held at the Central Camp Office Rawalpindi’s conference hall.
Central and regions orphan team from Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan attended the workshop.
Secretary General Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Syed Waqas Jafri was the chief guest on the occasion of the concluding ceremony. While addressing the ceremony and later on talking to media persons Syed Waqas Jafri said that over 4.6 million orphan children in Pakistan are awaiting our attention. Syed Waqas Jafri said that Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan is spending Rs 2.5 billion annually on looking after the 28,000 orphan children with the cooperation of philanthropists.
The purpose of the training workshop was to enhance the capacity of the team. Director Alkhidmat Orphan Care Program Air Marshal (retd) Farooq Habi, Program Manager Muhammad Ali Hayat and Media Relations Officer Inamul Haq Awan were also present at the concluding session.
Syed Waqas Jafri said that it is very crucial for any organization to set targets and accordingly implement them. He said that for enhancing the capabilities of its team, Alkhidmat Foundation continuously organizes this kind of sessions so that the team members could lean latest techniques and implement them in practical field. He said that it is our desire that every team member should enhance his education and skills so that he could perform in his field in best manner.
Syed Waqas Jafri said that in Pakistan for looking after the orphan children, 22 cadet college type Aghosh Homes are working, adding that along with this the process of looking after the orphan children present with their mothers or guardians is also continued. He said that money is provided to the orphan children for the purpose of education and food needs through a transparent system, adding that different sessions are conducted for the academic and moral training. He said that complete health screening of the orphan children is also done after the specific set period.
Syed Waqas Jafri said that Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan provides opportunities to the orphan children to university level education through Alkhidmat Academic Scholarship Program. He said that a large number of orphan children have been sent to Turkiye through scholarship.
