Three more relief flights from China & UAE received in Pakistan


KARACHI/RAWALPINDI, August 31 (SABAH): In continuation of humanitarian assistance to help Pakistan in these devastating floods, two more Chinese relief flights scheduled for Wednesday were received at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi.

According to a statement issued by Foreign Office Spokesperson Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, total of 4 such relief flights from China have landed in Pakistan carrying tents and other relief goods till now. Thus far, the 4 flights have brought 3000 tents to aid relief efforts.

FO spokesperson said that Pakistan is thankful to its Iron brother, China, for this timely and valuable support in this time of unprecedented catastrophe.

Meanwhile in continuation of humanitarian air bridge established between Pakistan and United Arab Emirates (UAE), first relief flight scheduled for Wednesday was received at Nur Khan Air Base, Rawalpindi. The next relief flight is expected to arrive at Nur Khan tonight.

In past three days, 7 relief flights from UAE have landed in Pakistan carrying food items, medical supplies and tents etc. Asim Iftikhar Ahmad said that Pakistan welcomes the assistance provided by UAE in these times of crisis.
