ISLAMABAD, May 21 (SABAH): The Islamabad court approved the 3-day physical remand of former Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas in the diplomatic passport case. Sardar Tanveer Ilyas is accused of using a diplomatic passport after leaving the post of Prime Minister. He has recently visited Saudi Arabia on a diplomatic passport, but according to the law, he could not use the passport after leaving the post of Prime Minister.

Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, the former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, who was arrested yesterday, was produced in the District Court Islamabad. Sardar Tanveer Ilyas was produced in the court of Civil Judge Abbas Shah on behalf of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). On behalf of Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, Sabir Malik Advocate and Naveed Raza Mughal Advocate appeared in the court. The FIA ​​prosecutor took the position that Sardar Tanveer Ilyas used diplomatic passport after leaving the post of Prime Minister. He went to Saudi Arabia on diplomatic passport. As per the law, he could not use the passport after leaving the post of Prime Minister.

FIA prosecutor argued that the passport of Sardar Tanveer Ilyas has been canceled but he has not returned it yet, the passport should be recovered from him, remand for 8 days should be given. Lawyer said that Sardar Tanveer Ilyas is a former prime minister and he can use diplomatic passport. Sardar Tanveer Ilyas visited Saudi Arabia only on diplomatic passport. They have sought remand to recover the passport, we produce the passport in court. To this, the FIA prosecutor said that he confessed to the crime by taking out his passport, the prosecutor requested for 8-day physical remand of Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, but the court accepted 3-day physical remand of the former prime minister.

It should be remembered that yesterday, the Islamabad District and Sessions Court approved the request of Sardar Tanveer Ilyas to be released on bail of 50,000 surety bonds in the case of torture and breaking the locks of the security in-charge of a private shopping mall in Islamabad. Earlier the local court had ordered him to be sent to Adiala Jail on judicial remand in this case. On May 1, a case was registered against Tanveer Ilyas for seizing the central offices and important documents of a private shopping mall, Centaurus Mall, in the federal capital, claiming that the building belonged to the former prime minister of Azad Kashmir.
