Those who gained half mandate of Karachi gave legal cover to process of hiding half of population: Engr. Hafiz Naeemur Rehman

KARACHI, April 6 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi chapter Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) was part of government when fake census as approved in Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) tenure in 2017 and even today MQM is enjoying ministries and government’s other perks and privileges on the name of digital census while deceiving Karachities.

Engr. Hafiz Naeemur Rehman expressed these views while addressing an aftaar dinner hosted in honor of journalists at Idara Noor-e-Haq, under publication department of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, on Thursday. He further said it is bad luck for the people of Karachi that parties which gained their mandate including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and MQM gave legal cover to disappearing the half of population of the city.

He said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) does not take up the issue of decreasing the population of the city and mostly remains tightlipped as if real population of the city was counted it may hurl threats to its rule and Karachi may give chief minister to the province. He said that Jamaat-e-Islami’s Haqooq Karachi Tehreek was working for the rights and sorting out problems of people exceeding 30 million of the city.
In the local bodies’ polls, Jamaat-e-Islami emerged as number one party and noted it will give its mayor to the city if the government of Sindh and PPP like it or not.

Naib Emir and In-charge Media Cell Dr Osama Razi and Secretary Information Zahid Askari also addressed the aftaar party whereas senior journalist Wajid Ansari presented Naat-e-Rasool (SAWW). In the ceremony, large number of senior journalists attached with electronic and print media, editors, photographers, cameramen, office-bearers of journalistic organizations participated.

Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman further said that Karachi was given less share in resources and jobs because census was not properly done in the city and added if the population is properly counted it will create a balance in Sindh, giving rise to public power in comparison with the feudal lords and notables of the province. He said this will also increase presentation in the national and provincial assemblies besides more share of city in PFC Award and deplored that PPP though talks about PFC Award but it does not give due share to Karachi. According to latest information, the quarters concerned are again trying to show less population of the city, he added.
