There were worst & awful conditions of agreement with IMF: Liaqat Baloch
LAHORE, Feb 14 (SABAH): Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan and president political and national affairs Committee Liaqat Baloch on Tuesday stated that there were worst and awful conditions of agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Liaqat Baloch while addressing the political electoral committee members stated 2023 was the year of elections and stressed upon the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) and Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to not adopt the illegal course on the matter. He added if these institutions abide by these lines then it would be their constitutional obligation to hold elections in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, national, Sindh and Balochistan assemblies, saying holding of general elections was essential for country’s political, social and economical stability.
He stated the national democratic leadership needs to be bold and capable enough for holding elections on the same day instead of begging this from establishment and superior judiciary. He further stated that there were worst and terrible conditions of agreement with the IMF, saying if the deal strikes with the Fund it will further exacerbate the state of loans of the country in the future. If corruption and bad governance remain unchecked no one would able to run the government of the country any further, he warned.
Liaqat Baloch stated the poor man was also already under barbarism and inflation while middle class was also affected by it; however, the elite class was facing no issues like the past. He added no one could imagine seeing gigantic number of ministers and advisers in the national and provincial governments that it is the leadership of bankrupt and ruined economy. The oil producing as well as developed countries couldn’t imagine misusing resources the way our leadership does. He appealed to the masses to support Jamaat-e-Islami to get the country out of prevailing crises.
