There is no worth of Parliament which came into existence after recent general elections: Maulana Fazlur Rehman

ISLAMABAD, Feb 15 (SABAH): Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that there is no worth of Parliament which came into existence after recent general elections.

During an interview with a private channel here, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said in the current situation political stability cannot become a reality. Now decisions would not be made in the House but in the open field, he said. He noted they would protest against the electoral rigging on the roads.

He further said rigging was also done during 2018 elections and also occurred in these general elections. Apparently, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) benefited from the rigging. There is no worth of Parliament which came into existence after recent general elections, he added. He said that this system is hybrid plus and no betterment could be guessed in the future.

He said that elections of 2024 have been stolen and according to a rumor Nawaz Sharif was given seat of Lahore, adding perhaps this is the reason he is not becoming part of the government. He further said that Imran Khan’s government should have been toppled through the movement whereas General Faiz Hameed met me and said that if they topple Imran Khan’s government then go ahead with this.

Ahead of no confidence motion, General Bajwa and Faiz Hameed in the presence of all parties told that how to topple the Imran Khan’s government. To a question, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that Shehbaz Sharif met me and I asked him to sit in opposition which he ignored.

He said they are going in assembly with reservations. If establishment says this rigging has not been committed in the elections then narrative of May 9 has been ignored. He said they respect the institutions but why they interfere into the politics.

In our society, he said the NGOs deteriorated our society and it is not matter of today. In the current situation the country would further face crisis and political stability could not be created, he said.

He said when they will meet with PTI then it will come to know what they want. He said our General Council will decide about the strategy of protests.
