LAHORE, Dec 05 (SABAH): Prime Minister’s Special Representative on Interfaith Harmony Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi said elements responsible for the Sialkot incident will be taken to task and no leniency will be adopted in this regard.
Addressing a news conference in Lahore on Sunday, he said the culprits involved in this barbaric act defamed Islam and Pakistan both, and nobody will be allowed to take law in his hands.
The Special Assistant said Ulemas, under the leadership of Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Noorul Haq Qadri, will visit Sri lankan Embassy and will expressed sorrow and heartfelt condolences with the bereaved families.
Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi said that an Ulema conference will also be held in Rawalpindi on Tuesday to develop a roadmap to tackle the contemporary challenges faced by the country.
Meanwhile, talking to passengers at the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi on Sunday, Minister for Maritime Affairs Syed Ali Haider Zaidi said Sialkot incident brought a bad name to the country.
The Minister said many violent incidents are taking place in India against Muslims, but the Indian government is backing the culprits instead of taking action against them.
Syed Ali Haider Zaidi urged the international media to raise voice against the oppressions being committed by India.
