Syed Ali Geelani was not afraid of anyone as he was an identity of Kashmir Independence Movement: Syed Salahuddin Ahmed

MUZAFFARABAD, Aug 31 (SABAH): Hizbul Mujahideen Chief and United Jihad Council (UJC) Chairman Syed Salahuddin Ahmed has said that Imam Syed Ali Shah Geelani was not afraid of anyone as he was an identity and subject of Kashmir Independence Movement.

Syed Salahuddin Ahmed expressed these views while addressing a dignified ceremony called on the occasion of second anniversary of Syed Ali Geelani. He further said that Syed Ali Geelani was not scared of anyone as he was an identity and subject of Kashmir Independence Movement.

Hizbul Mujahideen chief maintained while standing firm on his principled and historical views like a rock, Syed Ali Geelani led the freedom movement till the last moments of his life and added neither the treasures of governments could buy his ideologies nor cruelties and barbaric acts of Indian forces could bow him down.

Syed Salahuddin Ahmed said that the late senior leader embraced martyrdom while he was in custody of Indian occupational forces and added even lifeless dead body frightened the bigger army power as he was buried while imposing curfew across the State during the darkness of night.

He said that history witnessed a number of times conspiracies were made to sabotage the freedom movement but on every occasion symbol of bravery Syed Ali Geelani foiled each and every conspiracy plan while erecting a biggest obstacle against the opponents.  Muttahida Jihad Council chairman noted that today’s ongoing freedom struggle was heading towards its goal in its original form which is due to Syed Ali Geelani’s patience, steadfastness and bravery.

“The single way of paying tributes to Syed Ali Geelani is to renew the determination of struggle for Kashmir freedom and every plan either from inside or outside should be thwarted to occur. Allah Almighty will assist us,” Hizbul Mujahideen chief.

Muttahida Jihad Council Secretary General Sheikh Jameelur Rehman, Deputy Chairman Commander Usman, Emir Hizbul Mujahideen Saifullah Khalid, Taj Ali Shah and other leaders also addressed the ceremony.

While paying rich tributes to Syed Ali Geelani, they expressed their determination that by following his footprints, struggle would be continued till the goal is achieved and no-one would be allowed to damage it. Participants of the ceremony prayed for Syed Ali Geelani and other martyrs of Kashmir for their higher status in paradise.
