KARACHI, May 3 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Emir Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said the success of the election symbol ‘scale’ on the 11 deferred seats of the union councils on 7th May would be success of Karachiites. He said that the success of the JI would ensure the resolution of the problems of people of Karachi and journey of the development and progress will start. Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that chairmen and vice chairmen of the JI will succeed on these seats, adding that the dream of Pakistan People’s Party to install the “jiyala” mayor in Karachi will not be fulfilled.
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman expressed these views while addressing a motorcycle rally held with regards to public campaign at New Karachi’s UC-13, UC-4 and Lyari Town’s UC-2 Bihar Colony on Wednesday.
He further said victory of Jamaat-e-Islami would sort out the issues of the residents of Karachi and a journey of development would commence. At ward level, he added Jamaat-e-Islami has already won with thumping victory on eleven seats, saying chairmen and vice chairmen would also be from Jamaat-e-Islami.
He said that any effort put forth by the government of Sindh and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) for bringing their mayor would be foiled and added if the PPP tried to changed polls results by using the governments’ machinery as well as powers it would be resisted with a befitting manner.
He appealed to the residents of the coastal city of Karachi to come out of their homes in maximum number for using their right of franchise on May 07 and vote in favour of Jamaat-e-Islami to defeat rigging efforts put forth by the PPP.
In response to his address, the people of Karachi chanted slogans. They warmly welcomed Engr. Hafiz Naeemur Rehman and other leaders.
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that Karachiites would not be disappointed after the elections and they will not breach their confidence in Jamaat-e-Islami. He said that Jamaat-e-Islami emerged as number one party in the local bodies’ polls. He deplored that the PPP in connivance with thanes had enslaved the masses and no-one was careful about the suppressed people.
