Striving for societal transformation is the noblest of endeavors: Hafiz Naeemur Rehman
LAHORE, March 22 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has emphasized that striving for societal transformation is the noblest of endeavors.
Addressing a grand iftar gathering at the University of Management and Technology (UMT) in Lahore, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman stated that the youth are the beacon of hope for the nation and must take the lead in bringing about change.
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman highlighted JI’s initiative, Bano Qabil, which is revolutionizing Pakistan’s IT sector by providing free training. After Karachi, the program has now expanded to Punjab, with large-scale IT training sessions already underway. Plans are in motion to extend the initiative to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), interior Sindh, and Balochistan as well. He urged students to enroll and become part of this transformative movement as volunteers.
Criticizing the government, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman questioned that when a political party could organize extensive free training programs why the state failed to provide quality education to the youth. “The ruling elite has deliberately deprived the nation of education. Billions allocated to the education sector are lost to corruption,” he remarked. He reiterated that Jamaat-e-Islami would continue its struggle to reform the system and eradicate injustice.
The grand iftar, organized by Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, was attended by over 6,000 orphaned children, their mothers, and elderly individuals from old-age homes. The event featured various recreational activities for children, including swings, face painting, and an art corner. The JI cheif distributed Eid gifts among the children.
Speaking on the occasion, he stressed the need to care for orphans and the homeless. He praised Alkhidmat’s volunteers for their dedicated efforts in this regard. He also pointed out that despite high per capita incomes, developed countries lack inner peace, asserting that true contentment comes from serving others.
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman further shared that Alkhidmat currently operates 22 Aghosh centers across the country, providing free education and boarding for orphaned and destitute children. In the coming days, these centers will also be used as Bano Qabil free IT training campuses, enabling orphans to gain digital skills for a brighter future.
