ISLAMABAD, May 03 (SABAH): The SOS Foundation, has initiated a transformative campaign to establish schools as anger-free and litter-free zones across Islamabad. This initiative aims to instill a culture of cleanliness, responsibility, and environmental stewardship among students and educators.
The launch of the Cleanliness Drive in Islamabad schools was marked by a ceremony and awareness walk held at PBF International College, H.9 Islamabad. Students and teachers enthusiastically participated in the drive, underscoring their commitment to preserving Islamabad’s natural beauty and fostering a cleaner, greener environment.
Dr. Shaista Sohail emphasized the significance of collective responsibility in maintaining the cleanliness and greenery of Islamabad, the capital known for its splendor. She called upon government departments to actively engage in this mission while highlighting the crucial role of citizens in minimizing waste generation and ensuring proper waste disposal.
Addressing the pressing issue of climate change, Dr. Shaista Sohail underscored Pakistan’s vulnerability to its impacts and stressed the urgent need for proactive measures. She advocated for the planting of trees and emphasized the importance of individual and community efforts in environmental conservation.
Principal of PBF International College reiterated the commitment to prioritize cleanliness and create a conducive learning environment for children, aligning with the directives of the Ministry of Education.
As a symbolic gesture of their commitment, CEO SOSF Dr. Shaista Sohail, along with Principal Sara Mohsin and Director SOSF Abdus Salam, led the planting of trees within the campus premises, encouraging students and teachers to actively participate in environmental preservation efforts.
