So far the Palestinian death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression has exceeded 27.238: Hamas
GAZA, Feb 04 (SABAH): Media Office Islamic Resistance Movement- Hamas has said that so far the Palestinian death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression has exceeded 27.238, of which (11,500) 75% are children, 8,000 women and 1,049 elderly people.
According to media briefing of Hamas, more than 7.000 Palestinians are still under the rubble of the destroyed homes including over 5.000 children. The number of injured people has exceeded 66.452 most of them children and women according to the Health Ministry. More than 2.296 massacres against Palestinian families by bombing their homes while they were still inside. 471 people killed in the massacre of bombing the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital on October 17. Over 45 members of the civil defense rescue teams killed while on duty. The death toll includes 152 UNRWA staff killed by the Israeli occupation army, and 26 others injured.
The Israeli arrests of Palestinians from Gaza:
The Israeli army conducted arrests and forcible disappearance to around 2,500 Palestinians from Gaza, as they are held in unknown locations. Images and videos by the Israeli occupation soldiers showed how they arrested hundreds of Palestinians after forcing them to strip off their clothes.
The health sector: 339 medical staff killed by the Israeli occupation army including doctors, nurses and firstaid providers, and 356 others injured by the Israeli army. The arrest of more than 100 personnel of the medical staff who were kidnapped from hospitals while on duty including the directors of the three hospitals; Al-Shifa Hospital, the Indonesia Hospital and the Al-Awda Hospital. 30 hospitals completely out of service under the Israeli aggression and lack of fuel across
Gaza. 53 health care centers stopped providing services under the Israeli aggression. 150 health facilities sustained damage by the Israeli bombing. 122 ambulances directly hit and destroyed or severely damaged by the Israeli occupation army. Over 11,000 injured people in Gaza are in urgent need for completing their medical treatment abroad as no proper treatment for their cases is available in Gaza under the current aggression. Bed occupancy rate in the Gaza operational hospitals’ intensive care units is up to 340%.
Severe shortage in all items of medicines and medical disposables. 4.800 patients are in need of health care services every day, and 1.043 patients in need of urgent dialysis. Over 20.000 babies have been born since the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza in October amid lack of basic healthcare services to both the babies and the mothers. The health care to nearly 10.000 cancer patients in Gaza is disrupted under the Israeli aggression and deliberate targeting of hospitals. Some 150.000 patients of chronic diseases require regular health follow-up and medicines that are now unavailable due to disruption of work of Gaza hospitals under the Israeli aggression. Since the start of the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza, more than 1.000 Hepatitis C cases detected and numbers are increasing.
Before the Israeli withdrawal from the Al-Shifa Hospital and the Indonesian Hospital under the 7-day temporary truce which ended on Dec. 1, the Israeli occupation army destroyed much of the vital utilities and structures in both hospitals including the buildings, power generators, as well as vital medical equipment like oxygen pumps and medical devices. Yet, the health authorities in Gaza are struggling to re-operate any hospital in Gaza’s northern areas.
The residential buildings and displacement of families: Over 360.000 house units sustained severe and partial damage, in addition to more than 75.600 destroyed completely. Over 75% of the house units across Gaza sustained damage from the Israeli heavy bombing. Over 2 million people in Gaza are displaced from their homes, including more than one million people in UNRWA-run schools.
Attacks on journalists and press offices: 122 journalists killed by the Israeli airstrikes across Gaza, 80 others wounded seriously, and at least two arrested by the Israeli occupation army. More than 169 media and press offices in Gaza sustained damage by the Israeli occupation army.
The public facilities: 395 schools and universities sustained damage from the Israeli bombing across Gaza, including over 100 completely destroyed. 90% of the schools and universities infrastructure damaged across the Gaza Strip. Over 140 government buildings and public facilities across the Gaza Strip destroyed by the Israeli occupation. 161 mosques completely destroyed by the Israeli bombing, while nearly 414 mosques sustained partial to severe damage. 3 churches suffered severe damage as they came under direct Israeli bombing. Over 85 UNRWA-run facilities damaged by the Israeli bombing and airstrikes. All Gaza bakeries are shut down under lack of flour and fuel including over 12 of the main bakeries across Gaza that were bombed by the Israeli warplanes. Over 1.705 industrial facilities completely across Gaza destroyed by the Israeli occupation army. Over 45.000 dunums (+11,120 acres) of agricultural lands across Gaza destroyed by the Israeli occupation. Over 75% of the electricity network across Gaza is damaged. 231 schools are currently used as shelters amid lack of all basic services.
The preliminary estimates for the Palestinian losses of buildings and infrastructure exceeds $6.5 billion. The Israeli army destroyed more than 200 archeological and ancient sites out of 325 that are registered across the Gaza Strip in the course of its devastating onslaught since October 7, including ancient churches, mosques, schools and museums and other different historical and archeological sites and monuments.
The Israeli occupation army dropped over 75.000 tons of explosives on Gaza between October 7 and January 15, equaling more than two times the force of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima, Japan in World War II. Around 500,000 Palestinians are still in Gaza city and the North Governorate under a complete suffocating siege, they are on the verge of famine, as no bakeries are working, no adequate water and no fuel badly needed to run generators in hospitals, sanitation facilities and in other vital facilities.
The entire population of the Gaza Strip are living in deep humanitarian crisis amid lack of all essentials of life including food, water, fuel\energy, medicines. Israeli bombing is everywhere; people – especially children – are living in constant fear and insecurity. The Palestinian people in the northern parts of the Gaza Strip are going through a famine disaster… it is reported that people there are grinding animal fodder instead of wheat.
The aggression on the West Bank:
The number of the Israeli violations and assaults against the Palestinian people across the occupied West Bank has reached 28.428 since October 7, including the following: 381 Palestinians have been killed across the occupied West Bank since October 7, including 70 children. The number of injured people has exceeded 3.851, according to the Health Ministry. The Israeli occupation forces have detained around 6.500 Palestinians including 260 minors under the age of 18, since the start of the Israeli aggression on Oct. 7. 794 assaults by the Israeli settlers across the occupied West Bank. The Israeli occupation army stormed into 2.451 Palestinian homes across the West Bank.
