So far Pakistan receives 101 relief assistance flights for flood affectees from different countries of the world

ISLAMABAD, Sep 15 (SABAH): So far Pakistan has received 101 relief assistance flights for the flood affectees from different countries of the world.

According to a statement issued by Foreign Office Spokesperson Asim Iftikhar Ahmad on Thursday, so far Pakistan has received total 43 relief assistance flights from United Arab Emirates (UAE), 13 from Turkiye, four from China, one from Uzbekistan, four from Qatar, one from France, two from UNICEF, 9 from UNHCR, one from Turkmenistan, three from the World Food Programme (WFP), one from Jordan, 15 from United States of America (USA) including one support flight, one from Nepal and two from Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile in continuation of humanitarian air bridge established between Pakistan and UAE, two relief flights from UAE scheduled for Thursday were received at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi.

In total, 43 of such flights from UAE have landed in Pakistan carrying food, medical supplies and tents etc.

FO spokesperson said that Pakistan is thankful to the Government and people of UAE for their continuous support for the people of Pakistan in these times of grave crisis.

Meanwhile first humanitarian assistance flight from Fo Guang Shan (FGS) Buddhist Organisation, Sin Chew Foundation and Buddha’s Light International Association Malaysia arrived with relief goods for the people affected by devastating floods in Pakistan.

The flight landed this morning at Islamabad International Airport, Pakistan. The flight was received by Deputy Head of Mission Malaysia, Deddy Faisal along with the representatives from Foreign Office and NDMA.

The relief assistance includes tents, milk powder, blankets, water filter and clothing. It is welcomed with warmth and gratitude, FO spokesperson said.
