So far Pak receives total 46 relief assistance flights for flood affectees from different countries of the world: FO Spokesperson


ISLAMABAD/RAWALPINDI/KARACHI, Sep 06 (SABAH): So far Pakistan has received 44 relief assistance flights for the flood affectees from different countries of the world.

According to a statement issued by Foreign Office Spokesperson Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, so far Pakistan has received total 18 relief assistance flights from United Arab Emirates (UAE), 11 from Turkiye, four from China, one from Uzbekistan, three from Qatar, one from France, two from UNICEF, five from UNHCR and one Turkmenistan.

Meanwhile in continuation of humanitarian air bridge established between Pakistan and UAE, two relief flights from UAE scheduled for Tuesday were received at Nur Khan Airbase, Rawalpindi.

In total, 18 flights from UAE have landed in Pakistan carrying food, medical supplies and tents etc.

FO spokesperson said rhat Pakistan is thankful to the Government and people of UAE for showing support and solidarity in these times of grave crisis.

Meanwhile in continuation of humanitarian assistance for flood affectees, Tuesday’s scheduled flight from UNICEF was received at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi.

According to FO Spokesperson Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, the flight carrying relief goods was received by representatives of UNICEF and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He said that humanitarian assistance from UNICEF is welcomed with warmth and gratitude.

Two more flights scheduled for Tuesday carrying flood relief goods from UNHCR reached Jinnah International Airport Karachi from UAE.

The consignment contains tents and other relief items for the flood affectees. Representatives of UAE Consulate, UNHCR and Ministry of Foreign Affairs received the flight. Thus far, it is the 5th humanitarian flight from UNHCR. We welcome the humanitarian assistance from UNHCR for the flood affectées, FO spokesperson said.
