Sirajul Haq writes letter to Vladimir Putin appreciating him for supporting Freedom of Religion & respect of religious feelings
LAHORE, Dec 26 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq has written a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin appreciating him for supporting the Freedom of Religion and respect of religious feelings.

Subject: Appreciation for supporting Freedom of Religion and respect of religious feelings
Dear Mr. President.
I write to you with feelings of gratitude for your recent statement supporting freedom of religion, and respect for religious feelings of all communities. We also thank you calling the world’s attention towards Muslim feelings when offensive language is used or caricatures of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) are published. You rightly pointed out that insulting Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) does not count as freedom of expression, and it’s a violation of the sacred feelings of Muslims around the world.
On behalf of the people of Pakistan, and members of my party, I would like to reiterate our commitment to uphold values of respect, harmony, dialogue, and peaceful coexistence. We believe in cooperation among various civilizations to promote well-being of all the humanity. One of the prerequisites of developing such a world is to safeguard principles of justice in relations among communities and nations.
We believe it will be a great service to the humanity if world leaders like yourself take it upon themselves to promote understanding among different civilizations. As a leading figure on global stage, your voice will find resonance in East and West. You can play a leading role in mitigating Islamophobia, as well as hospitality towards other minority communities around the world. We can be called civilized when we care to protect those who are the most vulnerable in our societies.
We thank you once again for winning the hearts of about two billion Muslims around the world by speaking for protection of sanctity of their beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
