Sirajul Haq resigns from his position as Emir JI
LAHORE, Feb 12 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Sirajul Haq has resigned from his position as Emir JI.
According to a statement issued by Secretary Information Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Qaisar Sharif, Emir Jamaat has written in his resignation that despite his hectic efforts and struggle, Jamaat-e-Islami could not prove to be successful in the general elections as per desire. May Almighty Allah accept his efforts. Emir Jamaat has said that while accepting his failure, he is resigning as Emir of Jamaat-e-Islami.
To discuss the situation Secretary General Jamaat-e-Islami Ameerul-Azim has convened emergency meeting of Central Executive Committee at Mansoorah on February 17.
