Sirajul Haq regrets politics & economy have entered into closed alley, calling for national dialogue to end the prevailing crises

ISLAMABAD, May 16 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Sirajul Haq has regretted the politics and economy have entered into closed alley, calling for national dialogue to end the prevailing crises.

Addressing Milli Yakjehti Council (MYC) meeting at Islamabad on Monday, Sirajul Haq said the politics had been polluted due to use of bad and vulgar language by politicians of some parties and it divided the nation badly.

The prevailing culture was posing a serious threat to the country, he said, asking the political parties to show seriousness and start dialogue to save the economy and politics. The political parties, he said, should unite on the respect of constitution and rule of law.

A conglomerate of over two dozen political and religious parties, the MYC, discussed the prevailing situation and passed a united resolution calling for unity of nation, electoral reforms and elimination of interest-based economy in the light of the decision of the Federal Shariah Court. It said the economy could be fixed by adopting Islamic model, adding the Islam presents solution to all the current problems being faced by Pakistan. The meeting called for getting rid of the IMF and World Bank and asked the rulers to end non-developmental expenditures and VIP culture. President MYC Sahibzada Abualkhair Muhammad Zubair presided over the meeting. JI vice-emir Liaqat Baloch and other leaders attended.

Sirajul Haq said the different parties who ruled over country time and again were badly failed to deliver. They, he said, during their tenures tried to get control over parliament, judiciary and election commission instead of establishing rule and law, providing relief to masses and strengthening institutions. The ruling elite was responsible for the prevailing crises, he added. He said the PTI had come to power to transform Pakistan into Madina-like-State yet it had not taken a single step towards the right direction in three and half years. The PML-N and the PPP, he said, were now in power and both had made governments in the past too but they also brought no change.

He appealed to the people to vote for the JI to bring real change and transform Pakistan into Islamic welfare state.
