Sirajul Haq awarded International Islamic Award for Human Rights by Iran
TEHRAN, August 4 (SABAH): The Islamic Republic of Iran has awarded the “International Islamic Award for Human Rights” to former Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq. The “International Islamic Award for Human Rights” is given every year by the Department of Human Rights of the Islamic Republic of Iran to those who have performed outstanding services around the world. This year, this award was reserved for those who raised their voice against the ongoing oppression and brutality in Palestine and Zionist imperialism.
After 47 people from around the world are nominated for this award, six people are selected while three persons are chosen for the honorary award. Sirajul Haq was awarded the International Islamic Award for Human Rights in a special official ceremony in recognition of his strong voice against the ongoing bombing and aggression in Gaza, financial support and valuable services to the Palestinian people. Ambassadors of Islamic countries from all over the world participated in this event held in the capital city of Tehran. The ministers of the government of Iran, including the judiciary and high government officials also participated in it.
According to the Central Secretary of Human Rights, the theme of this year’s award was “defence of the oppressed people of Palestine, resistance and the fight against the crimes of the Zionist regime”.
Former Emir of Jamaat-e-Islami Sirajul Haq, addressing the ceremony, said that Ismail Haniyeh’s martyrdom is a great tragedy. He was a hero of the Islamic world. From today, every parent in the Islamic world will wish to name their children Ismail Haniyeh. Israel has been defeated and is flouting human rights laws. It is the duty of all Islamic countries including Iran that they should oppose Israeli aggression and stand with the people of Palestine.
