Sirajul Haq inaugurates water plants & facilitation camps for the residents of Cholistan


BAHWALPUR, May 23 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Sirajul Haq on Monday inaugurated water plants and facilitation camps for the residents of Cholistan, expressing regret the government had completely ignored the area facing severe scarcity of water and draught like situation.
Talking to local journalists, Sirajul Haq said the JI would take up the issue at the parliament and would not sit silently until the people of the desert were provided relief. The JI’s Alkhidmat Foundation provided funds for the water plants and hundreds of its volunteers are engaged in welfare activities in the area.

Sirajul Haq said animals were dying because of the unavailability water, forcing people to migrate from Cholistan to other areas for their needs. The ruling elite, he said, had completely turned blind eyes to the plight of the masses. The fact was that waderas and feudal represented the area were busy in saving their seats of assemblies and had no time for their voters, he said. “I request the people of the desert not to vote for the feudal lords in the next election.”

The he said, adding the nation must reject them to save the future of coming generations. He said the new government could not decrease the prices of basic items and knocked the door of the IMF following footsteps of the previous government. The JI believed, he said, the ruling parties were the sides of the same coin. He demanded the government implement the federal shariah court decision and eliminate the interest-based economy to put the country on track. He said the JI would introduce Islamic model of economy after coming into power. He said the election should be held after the electoral reforms. He said the JI wanted election on principle of proportional representation.
