Sirajul Haq expresses his unwavering solidarity with the people of Palestine in their struggle for freedom
LAHORE, Oct 07 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Sirajul Haq has expressed his unwavering solidarity with the people of Palestine in their struggle for freedom, urging the Muslim world to stand firmly behind the cause during these challenging times.
In a video message released from the JI media cell in Mansoorah on Saturday, Sirajul Haq asserted that Israel is an illegal occupant of the holy land, with a history of hostilities against the Palestinian people who are merely fighting for their freedom.
He underscored that the people of Palestine are making profound sacrifices to safeguard Masjid Aqsa, for which the entire Ummah is grateful and united in their support for the fight against occupying forces.
In a separate statement, he emphasized the need for Islamabad and Kabul to resolve their issues through dialogue. He urged both governments to collaborate and reach a unanimous decision regarding the timeline for the departure of illegal Afghan citizens from Pakistan. He expressed concern that the one-month deadline for the evacuation of millions of Afghan nationals appeared to be too short. He called upon Pakistani authorities to formulate a comprehensive plan for the orderly departure of all foreign citizens residing in Pakistan without legal status.
He highlighted the deep historical and religious ties between the people of Pakistan and Afghanistan, noting that Pakistan had generously hosted Afghan citizens for decades and had consistently provided unwavering support to Kabul during times of crisis.
With stability returning to the war-torn country, Sirajul Haq expressed hope that the Afghan government would reciprocate this support and play a pivotal role in establishing peace in the region and particularly in northern and north-western areas of Pakistan. He stressed the importance of both nations working together for the stability and prosperity of their people while remaining vigilant against the schemes of mutual adversaries. He also emphasized that the success of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) hinges on the region’s peace.
Sirajul Haq highlighted that the Jamaat-e-Islami is dedicated to advocating for the rights of the people and has initiated a protest movement against inflation. He announced that the JI would stage a sit-in protest in front of the Governor House in Karachi today (Sunday).
