Sirajul Haq enquires after the health of innocent Rizwana, assures heirs of their full support
LAHORE, July 30 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Sirajul Haq on Sunday enquired after the health of innocent Rizwana, a victim of domestic violence and held meeting with her mother as well as heirs and assured them of their full support.
Talking to media persons on the occasion, Sirajul Haq termed the act against innocent Rizwana shameful for the entire nation and further deplored ‘in this land of ours no concept of punishment prevails.’
He said this incident took place at a home whose head used to deliver lessons on the law to the people. “Torture broke her arms and caused spinal issues. She was also hit at head which caused negative effect on her eyesight. Doctors are trying to save her life,” he added.
He further remarked, “There are predators in the form of human beings in our society. Cruelty and lawlessness are ruling the roost over here due to which such incidents are happening.”
He noted, “Such incidents are basically a failure of the law enforcement agencies. If the powerful people are not punished then they start to consider the poor people as worms.”
Sirajul Haq maintained, “We assure our full support to seek justice for Rizwana. This is not a first incident as such incident took place in Rawalpindi too. Workers should take care of her and her family.”
