Sirajul Haq discusses the Kashmir issue with diplomats of different countries at a seminar

ISLAMABAD, Feb 03 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Sirajul Haq has discussed the Kashmir issue with diplomats of different countries at a seminar here on Friday.

Titled “Kashmir: knocking at world’s conscience”, the seminar was organized by the JI foreign affairs department and attended by the diplomats of Norway, Malaysia, Turkmenistan, Germany, Kirgizstan, Afghanistan, Russia, Azerbaijan and Iran.

The sitting was held in continuation of the JI efforts to raise at international level the human rights abuses by Indian forces in the occupied area. JI Emir Sirajul Haq had also hosted a reception in honour of the Kashmiri leadership at Mansoorah a couple of days ago where he vowed that the JI would continue moral support to the Kashmiri brethren in their struggle for freedom from Indian yoke. He also appealed to the nation to mark the Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 5 with zeal and commitment.

Talking to the diplomats, he said Kashmir was a flashpoint for nuclear war and the settlement of dispute was necessary to establish peace in the region. He said the Kashmir issue must be settled according to the wishes of the Kashmiri people and the United Nations resolutions which granted them right to self-determination. He said the peace in central Asia could not be achieved without settlement of the Kashmir issue. He said the people of Occupied Kashmir had long been struggling against Indian illegal occupation. He said Indian government violated the mutual agreements between Pakistan and India and international laws by abrogating the special status of Kashmir state. Now, he added, New Delhi was bent upon changing the demography of the occupied valley. He said the world must take notice of it and put pressure on India to recognize the right to self-determination of the people of Kashmir. He appealed to the diplomats to convey the message to their concerned countries as it was their moral duty to raise voice for the humanity in trouble.

Sirajul Haq said India had turned the valley into largest prison of the world. He said the JI would continue its efforts to knock the conscience of the world on Kashmir issue.

Sirajul Haq said that occupied Jammu and Kashmir is heap of arms and ammunitions and due to this there is looming threat of nuclear war in the region.

Sirajul Haq said this issue remains unresolved since last 75 years and has become biggest jail as well as graveyard of the world. He requested ambassadors deployed in Pakistan to cooperate to stop a huge debacle to happen.

He said that India can demand of holding plebiscite after five to ten years after changing the demographics of the territory whereas our rulers were totally careless on this aspect and furthered was more than 4 million immigrants were adjusted in occupied Kashmir. More than one billion human beings were deprived of economic development and prosperity, he added.

Director Department of Foreign Affairs Asif Luqman Qazi welcomed the ambassadors and prestigious guests. In the symposium, ambassadors of Russia, Malaysia, Norway, Turkamanistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Azerbaijan and other countries took part who were briefed about the latest abnormal situation of occupied Kashmir.
