ISLAMABAD, May 17 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq has demanded of the government of Pakistan to contact China and Islamic countries to prevent G20 meeting at Srinagar.
Addressing a press conference along with the Hurriyet leaders here on Wednesday, Sirajul Haq said that the Jamaat-e-Islami has also begun efforts by contacting the ambassadors of the relevant countries, adding that it would continue these efforts.
“On the occasion of G20 meeting, a severe protest would be done along with Hurriyet leaders at Islamabad. United Nations observer would be presented a memorandum in this regard as well. Sensitivity of Kashmir dispute needs to be felt as it may cause a nuclear war.
Hurriyat leaders including All Parties Hurriyet Conference’s Convener Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Jammu and Kashmir Dr. Khalid Mehmood Khan, former Jamaat-e-Islami AJK Emir Abdul Rashid Turabi, Jamaat-e-Islami leader Tanvir Ahmed, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Rafiq Dar, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi and others were also present on the occasion.
Moreover, Sirajul Haq said that holding of G20 meeting at Srinagar has raised concerns of Kashmiris not only in Occupied Kashmir but across the world. He said that this dispute may cause a nuclear war in the region. He also deplored that Occupied Kashmir has been converted into a jail.
“Any international meeting at Srinagar is violation of international laws as it is a disputed territory. Holding of G20 meeting at Srinagar is a failure of Pakistan foreign policy. At present, Occupied Kashmir is really a jail,” he added.
Sirajul Haq said that Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari should hold public gathering in Muzaffarabad instead of Bagh. Sirajul Haq demanded of the President, prime minister, army chief and foreign minister to speed up the contacts with the friendly countries for stopping the G20 meeting in Srinagar, adding that these contacts should have been made far earlier. Sirajul Haq said that on our suggestion, FM Bilawal Bhutto during his recent Indian visit highlighted the situation of occupied Kashmir and importance of the issue.
