Sirajul Haq demands fair & level playing field for all political entities in the upcoming elections
LAHORE, Nov 04 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Sirajul Haq has said that the political parties belong to two families, have been consistently provided unjust advantages in their pursuit of power, demanding fair and level playing field for all political entities in the upcoming elections.
Speaking at a training workshop for the JI workers at Mansoorah on Saturday, Sirajul Haq said the two ruling families often align to safeguard their own interests but swiftly become adversaries when their interests clash.
He stressed that exposing the entrenched ruling elite would serve the cause of democracy and the national political landscape. Instructing party members to intensify their election campaign, he urged them to educate the public about the poor performance of the former rulers.
Sirajul Haq stated that JI would be contesting the election under the symbol of the “Scale,” with the aim of transforming the country into an Islamic welfare state. JI plans to field candidates in all national and provincial assembly constituencies, with a strong emphasis on providing party tickets to youth, he added.
Sirajul Haq called upon the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to ensure that all contestants adhere to the election code of conduct. He highlighted that while the country possesses significant resources, the problem lies in their inequitable distribution and the prevalence of corruption.
He criticized the riba system, which has plagued the economy. He said the international establishment controlled the countries through mechanisms imposed by the IMF and the World Bank.
He said the flawed policies implemented by past rulers have led to rampant inflation and unemployment, resulting in the suffering of the common man. He emphasized that the tested political parties are not the solution to the country’s challenges and reiterated that JI would be capable of setting the country on the right course if voted to power.
He said the rulers of Muslim world were silent spectator of the atrocities committed by the Israeli forces in Gaza. He said the JI would hold the historic pro-Palestine rally in Lahore on November 19.
