Sirajul Haq calls for fruitful negotiations between PDM & PTI

ISLAMABAD, May 03 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Sirajul Haq has called for fruitful negotiations between the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), saying it is the prime responsibility of all the political stakeholders to evolve consensus on the elections.

The general elections, Sirajul Haq reiterated while addressing the party’s central leadership meeting here on Wednesday, was the solution to the prevailing political, economic and constitutional crises.

He said the JI would remain in touch with the political parties to get their agreement on the date of the polls, proposing a post-Eid date for the national vote.

The meeting appreciated and thanked the Saudi government’s efforts for the timely evacuations of Pakistani citizens from war-hit Sudan.

Sirajul Haq demanded the government address the concerns of the people of Karachi and other parts of the country on the census. He said those who did not fulfill their responsibility despite the utilization of billions of rupees on the entire exercise should be held accountable.

The JI also called for the release of Gwadar movement leader Maulana Hidayatur Rahman Baloch, demanding the government fulfill the demands of the locals. He said there was an urgent need for the government to listen to the people of Balochistan instead of pushing them to the wall.

Sirajul Haq said the masses were the ultimate victims of the prevailing crises as the elite class always remained unconcerned, capturing the resources of the country. He said the middle class had vanished due to the high wave of inflation and unemployment. Along with inflation and unemployment, lawlessness had also gripped the country, he said. The parliament and judiciary, he said, must hold a ceasefire and pay attention towards the problems of the masses. He said the JI was fighting for the rights of the people. He said the country needed honest and dedicated leadership instead of already tested parties and faces. He said the JI could pull the country out of prevailing crises, and it could put it on track if voted to power.
