Sirajul Haq appeals to the religious scholars to play their role for peaceful & democratic Islamic revolution in country
QUETTA, August 01 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Sirajul Haq has appealed to the religious scholars to play their role for peaceful and democratic Islamic revolution in the country.
Addressing Ittehad-e-Ummat (Unity of Ummah) Conference at Quetta Press Club on Monday, Sirajul Haq said at a time when the polarization in the society was widening with every day passing, and poverty, inflation and lawlessness went uncontrolled, they were the ulema who could lead the people to become united and stand for their rights.
“Your [Islamic scholars] role is pivotal to get rid of the status quo parties and corrupt landlords and mafias.”
Sirajul Haq said the lack of basic facilities, neglect and other deprivations of the people of Balochistan had touched the dangerous level. The frequent governments made claims to address the problems of the province but failed to fulfill it, he added. The families of the missing persons were still sitting on the footpaths of Quetta in search of justice and over 70 percent educated youth of the province was jobless, he said.
Target killing had become a routine in the area and security situation was worsened, he said. On one side, he said, floods played havoc in Balochistan and on the other side majority of the people in its capital Quetta lacked access to clean drinking water, he added. Corruption was rampant and bad governance created multiple crises in the province, he said. “Balochistan needs its rights. The resources of the province must be utilized on the people of the province.”
Sirajul Haq said the Jamaat-e-Islami would never leave alone the people of Balochistan and would continue fight for their rights at every forum. He said the people should also take stand for their rights and choose the honest and dedicated leadership instead of already tested waderas and agents of the western powers. He said Pakistan needed interest-free economy and Islamic system and only the JI could give the same to the country.
